The Tahoe Basin Existing Vegetation Map is now available for public use. This map was created by Solomon Dobrowski and Jonathan Greenberg at the Center for Spatial Technologies and Remote Sensing at the University of California, Davis, and funded by the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) and the U.S. Forest Service.

The map will continue to be maintained by Solomon and Jonathan, and feature requests are welcome. We encourage users to first read the README found in the Docs section of this site, which discusses how the map was created, what attributes are contained in the map, and the accuracy of the various products.

The raster classification map, upon which the publically available GIS vector coverage is based, is not currently being made available, save through direct requests to the lead researchers.
