Summary: Accuracy comparison between CALVEG and TBEVM
Project: Tahoe Basin Existing Vegetation Map
Due to the difference in the approach between the two map products (CALVEG used "direct" classification and TBEVM used a species-level raster and data querying), we are still working on an accuracy simulation to cross-walk dominance type and coarser thematic level accuracies to CALVEG. With that said, users should examine our species and lifeform accuracies to CALVEG for the same region:

We recommend examining the "MAX" accuracy columns rather than the "RIGHT" accuracy columns. (MAX uses a standardized accuracy measurement, while RIGHT uses a fuzzy accuracy measurement which biases results towards higher accuracies).
It is important to note that the TBEVM lifeform is a plant-level lifeform description, whereas the CALVEG "lifeform" is a lifeform-dominance description. |
